Host Families!

In Samara Beach, we stay with Costa Rican host families. In costal Costa Rica, the houses are often smaller and more rustic than at home. It is tropical and humid so there is no need for heat or hot water. Families cool their homes with fans and open windows, which allows you to hear nature (birds!) all around you. You often fall asleep to rain on the tin roof. Most Costa Rican families have dogs and cats. Many of them run around the town and beach off leash during the day and return home at night. While quite different than houses in the US, these homes have all the necessities and provide a comfortable place to relax. Below are some images of a typical Costa Rican house in Samara Beach.
